Why quotes differ
Tile bond is a cement-based product, so the biggest input is the cement and sand market, and those move. Beyond that, what separates one bag from another is mostly:
- Polymer content. Polymer additives are what give a thin-bed adhesive its grip and its tolerance of movement. More of them costs more.
- Consistency of the blend. A bag that mixes the same way every time saves you material and rework. That control costs something to maintain.
- Colour. Lighter adhesives use lighter raw materials and usually carry a small premium over standard grey.
- How far it has travelled. Locally manufactured product does not carry import or long-haul freight costs.
Compare per square metre, not per bag
A cheaper bag that covers less area is not cheaper. Work out what each option actually costs to lay:
Cost per m² = price per bag ÷ coverage per bag at your bed thickness.

The costs that are not on the invoice
Adhesive is a small fraction of a tiling job. Labour, the tiles themselves and the cost of going back to fix something dwarf it.
An adhesive that skins over too fast in Lahore heat costs you in wasted mix and slower progress. One that lets go of a few tiles in year two costs you a return visit, a reputation, and sometimes the tiles. Saving a small amount per bag is a poor trade against either.
Ask about bulk and delivery
Rates change with quantity, and site delivery is worth pricing separately — moving forty bags yourself is not free, in time or in vehicle.

Buying well
- Work out your quantity before you ring around, so you are pricing the same thing.

- Ask what the price includes: delivery, unloading, and how long it holds.
- Check the shelf life if you are buying ahead. Tile Bond 3100 keeps at least six months unopened, stored dry.
